Great pick up–Sheldon Day 6’2" 280 lb. 4 Star DT from Indianapolis IN commits to ND. I still want Tommy Schutt–that would be awesome to have Day & Schutt anchor the interior. Not sure but believe that leaves only 7 scholies left. Will know soon as Schutt is scheduled to visit next week. Welcome to ND Sheldon, now Tommy put the icing on the cake.

Key Indicator for 2011 Success

THE OFFENSE LINE–PERIOD!!!

While the QB deal has not been sealed–the OL just about has with really only the LG position up for grabs–believe Watt starts here.

That being said I watched in horror how Nix and Aaron Lynch–(what 17 yrs old?) threw a bunch of experienced 300+ starters all over the place including Trevor Robinson in the BG game.

Hopefully with going against this DL this Fall Camp will improve the quality of the OL play–I am not at all sold on this group.

Key Indicator: will be opening game against USF when it’s 3rd or 4th and one yard to go early in the game and the RB gets stuffed–can just hear the air going out of the balloon if that happens.

Time for all the OL to pick it up especially Robinson and I don’t want to hear about his need to re-shape or re-model his body for this offense.

To me this OL performance will make or break this season and we will know the answer quite early in the season.

Should Golson redshirt this season?

With fall camp only three weeks away the quaterback question at Notre Dame is still on everybody minds. Who is going to start? Who should the back up be? Who should the change-up guy be? Where does Andrew Hendrix fit in? Should Everett Golson be redshirted? Who is going to tranfer? Lots of questions. I like Dayne Crist but he gets rattled way to easy and is prone to injury. Tommy Rees showed a lot of heart at the end of last season and found ways to win but is he the right guy out of the four quarterback we have now to lead the team for this season and in the future? All roads lead to Golson being the future star but do we play him this season or save him and let him really learn the offense? My feeling is if we put Golson in over Hendrix we are going to lose Hendrix. It’s a very confusing situation over there at ND for QB. Thought?
