YOU BETTER GET USED TO IT

Kelly quote on intercepted pass. Does anyone think that is somewhat arrogant.

Imagine if Weis had said that in this same situation.

What would the howling be like if Weis bypassed the FG.

What would the howling be like if Weis said our goal is to finish 6-6 and go to a bowl.

This Act is getting old: Is it really necessary to publicly berate players on National TV. Sooner or later they are just going to tune him out. Think this would be a turn off for a recruit or his parents?. You could get away with this in Cinn-only on TV maybe once a year–not at ND

3RD And Long–why is it so easy for teams over the last 4 coaches tenure for pass completions on these most crucial points in the games. They invariably lead to another ND loss. For USC it has led to multiple Heismans.

This team, unfortunately, is unraveling and I fear another de-commit coming-really hope I’m wrong.

DAYNE CRIST

If ever a guy was star crossed it’s Dayne. Came to ND to study under Weis and knew he would have to sit and backup Claussen.

He did all that, got injured. Weis leaves and Kelly comes in–square peg in round hole.

Thanks for all you have contributed on and off the field– You are truly a ND man.

Good Luck in your recovery.

“Coaching is nothing more than eliminating mistakes before you get fired.” Lou Holtz

In this absolutely must win game, Tulsa racked up over 200 yds. rushing and close to 200 yds. passing–that kid’s is 400 yds. You can’t win giving up those numbers week in and week out. ND on the other hand ran for about 120 yds. and over 300 in the air.

The ND sideline is starting to resemble visitors from the surrounding hospital wards.

If you watched the game their is little to say. But I will do my best:

  1. noticed right at the start how hard Tulsa was hitting.
  2. Dayne Crist was literally blasted out of his shoes on the sideline.
  3. Tulsa OL and DLine outplayed ND and I’m still wondering where OLB’s are.
  4. Down to 2 Running Backs.
  5. OL-just don’t get how they can be so bad week in and week out. It doesn’t seem to matter how many OL line coaches we go thru. You will never be a winning team if you can’t consistently run the ball. At the end of the game, just a few good runs would make for a super easy FG.
  6. Rees played well 4tds.
  7. Clausen in game-ok pass to Floyd almost automatic TD but not with a true 2nd string freshman. You just do not do that. Kelly said he will always play aggressive–well that call was just plain stupid, especially for a guy who has been coaching 20 yrs.
  8. Kelly proud how Rees just kept bouncing up after the hits he took. If he keeps getting hit like that-we’ll soon be onto our third QB. Why the hell doesn’t he say-I don’t want my QB touched and we will be working the OL hard for next 2 weeks and replace those not producing.

Final words–It will take a miracle for ND to win next 3 games.

Brian Kelly Loses The Game

With the game virtually won, a chip shot for a field goal, with something like 30 seconds left on the clock what does our fearless leader do.

Every coach in any type of division would set up for a FG to ice the game. Not our brilliant leader. With a freshman QB, and all you need do is run one play to line up as close as possible to just set up the winning score. Ruffer has proved he can kick–put it in his foot which has been true so far–no miss situation. But no, our brilliant coach asks a true freshman to throw a TD pass, needlessly, only to be intercepted.

Is this guy insane!!!

Unfortunately–yes.

I want all you bloggers to come out along with your idiots who chip in to defend this Head Coach –You wanted his head on a spike and got it but Charlie Weis would not have lost this game. This is a tough gig for any coach and Brian Kelly is a complete idiot–go ahead and defend him–you can’t. You are just a bunch of elitist assholes. This guy is choking all over the place or dare I say it, not ready for ND football. Sad that a big fat brilliant ND grad is run out by a bunch of no knowledge trolls–you got what you wanted so live with it.

It usually takes 6-10 yrs for a ND coach to burn out–this guy is toast in 8 games.

I want every fat guy joker to comment on your latest hero.

Weis would have taken us to NC game–but too fat and slobby for you ignorant elitist.

You got what you wanted a sideline figure, a little slim but years away from playing in the big leagues. This loss was totally unnecessary. Shame for the players.

More to follow tomorrow….

Retro–Interesting–same plays 2009 vs 2010. Obviously defensive coaches learned very little–sorta like they didn’t even look at 2009 tape. Same exact plays in 2010. Now somebody is stupid here and certainly not the Navy coaches.  Offensive line play –no difference.

What I find more interesting is coaching–keep your eye on the clock in 2009 game.

Charlie never quit– Kelly with 6 minutes left? Hmm what do you think?

You pick the coach–forget about defense-concentrate on offense and time.

ND VS Tulsa

Before I get into this game, I want to comment on 3 things that confounded me(there’s a lot more).

1– Can’t remember the game and I can’t remember ever hearing this before–but the ND defensive coaches wanted the home crowd to quiet down since they couldn’t get their defensive changes in. Every game I ever saw the home crowd goes crazy to help the defense. I find this very strange.

2–BK admitting he knows nothing about triple option but 2 of his defensive coaches do. You would think that what led to CW firing would inspire him to take a crash course on it.

3–Inability to change defense, when what you are doing clearly isn’t working.

There have been times when ND defense looks to side line and gets no answers. I’m going to hand the Navy loss directly on the entire coaching staff. The ND defensive players clearly needed coaching help and received no help at all from the coaches. We were lucky Navy didn’t lay 50 on us. It looked like everyman for himself out there–sorta like the Alamo.

Now onto Tulsa. I don’t care what conference they’re in–they can score points and who the hell knows what our defense will do.

If Western Michigan can score 17 first half points on us these guys can too and maybe 17 in 2nd half. If I’m Tulsa I’d play same defense Navy did. If Navy D-Line could get to Crist Tulsa can too. ND Offensive Line is pretty bad. We need to score at least 40-45 points to win this game.

I believe Kelly is feeling the pressure–sorta like that sinking feeling when–hey this is not at all what I expected.  Kelly coaching scared for first time in his career.  And for Christ sake stop screaming at Crist every time you see him.

Prediction–Upset

Tulsa 35 ND 28

Sea Change Coming

This probably won’t happen but I would really like to see an entirely new OL start–with the exception of Martin.

Obviously starters need a reminder–might say a Wally Pipp moment. Leahy would do it but Kelly won’t–he knows he must win this game and even with the mess on OL he won’t change unless this game gets out of control.

Hate to pick out 1 guy but Robinson is damn lucky he’s not a you tube star like Eric Olsen last year or was that 2008–doesn’t matter.

DL– try anybody–put Nix in–I don’t care if he can only give 5 plays before passing out from burger diet etc–just say you are a so called star–go out and show it. Ethan Johnson.someday, will become an excellent football commentator on minor tv or radio in Washington stations for he sure is not ever going to see a Pro game unless he’s in stands.

Defense–Everybody gives Teo a pass–except for a few plays he spent whole game warding off cut blocks. Calabrese–looks to me like Kelly not impressed but this kid is basically a freshman. Teo last yr given a pass why not Carlo–he is not slow–just like Teo last year slow reading–give this kid a chance and he will be a star–if we need anything we need tough guys and their are about 83 or 84 who aren’t. Too bad he’s hurt.

I would just like to get some sense out of this coaching staff–really like Diaco(fiery) but don’t know if he can coach or will become a TV Evangelist.

Fucking sorry times my friends.

Tulsa Week

Tulsa comes in with a 4W-3L record and had a bye last week. They got stomped by OKLA State and only lost at SMU by 3. Then they hung 52 on Tulane.

Check out this highlight clip:

http://www.tulsahurricane.com/allaccess/?media=201483

Time to get worried–they look pretty good and my guess is they will be really really fired up– prime time TV at ND stadium. They should be really encouraged with the Navy result.
As you would imagine, most of roster is filled with Okla and Texas kids. Some of best HS football there is–so these guys won’t lay down.
I don’t have a clue what ND will trot out but this has all the makings of a major upset.
Kelly seemed to have lost it psychologically vs. Navy betraying his own words to the team to never quit–when he threw in the towel with 6minutes left ag. Navy.

Yesterday odds were Tulsa down by 8.5–if you can get that–take it.

Charlie gets last chuckle

Weis hired–no time to recruit and his asst coaches picked for him. Don’t think he even knew them.

2005-2006 Bowl games-found out he really did not have an offensive or defensive line.

2007-Clausen year one- disaster lack of recruits by TY hits home–Clausen almost killed

2008–better but asst coaching problem and still no linemen.

2009-some of the most exciting football games ever played but absolutely no defense.

So Charlie axed when 2010 was the year he was building for– might have won NC-if he keeps Clausen. When he got a reprieve for the 2009 season-he should have paid, even out of his own pocket, for the best experienced Defensive Co-Ordinator he could find.
Charlies problem-he did not look like Kirk Ferentz, just way too hefty for the ND elites.

2010 new coach quits with 6 minutes left in Navy game. Give Charlie credit he would still be trying with .50 secs left, let alone 6 minutes.

Both players and coach quit in this Navy game.

Thanks for all you did Charlie.
