ND VS STANFORD–IF I WAS THE COACH
Let’s see–Cave, Gray & Tuitt out.
Riddick Ethan Johnson–still hampered
Flu going round, so who knows who else will miss the Stanford game.
USC almost upset Stanford but we don’t have Barkley.
Stanford staff studying Pitt, Wake, USC and BC defensive game plan and spends all week mimicking it.
Head to head we have no chance to win this game, so aside from a few gimmick plays what would I do if ND head coach.
I’d start Crist !!! He goes out in blaze of glory or screws up and we lose–so what –we can’t win with what we have.
Benefits–Stanford wastes whole week prepping defense for Rees.
Crist can throw long–that opens up a lot of possibilities but only if he’s been getting 1st team reps all week.
Again we have nothing to lose since Stanford is going to put up at least 30 pts and much more if Diaco continues to play bend/break defense..
Speaking of defense–Lynch should have one role hit the QB every play and mix in a lot of other blitzers every play.
Start Calabrese and have him run blitz since they say he can’t cover(neither can Teo or Fox). Insert Niklas frequently to blitz. This should be an all out blitz game–might get beat long a few times but the plan should be to batter Luck every play.
How’s that for a blueprint for success.

I love it! That’s a brilliant idea! And I’ll be Crist would go off. Unfortunately for some reason Kelly has it out for Crist so it won’t happen. Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Crist go to Stanford next year with their losing Luck.
Hey Shane. Crist at Stanford huh? I never thought about that. That’s possible. I wouldn’t be surprised if he went to Florida to help out Charlie too.
Shane–first thanks for checking the site and taking the time to post a comment.
Unfortunately I agree with you–just something there between Kelly / Crist. Plus think Kelly too stubborn.
I don’t know who Stanford has in the pipeline at QB-but if it’s only an unproven freshman–Crist would do very well in that offense and wouldn’t that be a hoot next year at ND stadium. As the saying goes “paybacks are a bitch”
You run a good site. I enjoy your commentary and, unfortunately, tend to agree with you most the time. I appreciate your honesty – even when it’s not positive. I figure Stanford will just drop 8 into coverage and le Rees either force it and throw pics or throw it away. Good news is my girlfriend is a Stanford alum so I get to watch the slaughtering in person at the game while she gloats. Payback is a bitch but as much as I love ND I’d still love to see Crist have a chance at redemption and think Stanford is a good fit. Beats seeing him at USC.
I have been told that I’m sometimes too negative but feel I have to call it as I see it
and not be one of those rah rah guys.I don’t like to personalize a negative and name a player–but if they slack off–I will. Would much prefer to hammer coaching.
I completely agree with you on Crist–he got screwed big time. When Kelly took over, I don’t think he was honest with Crist–Kelly should have told him he was not a fit for his offense. Crist had 2 or more yrs elig.left–give him the opportunity to leave and get playing time elsewhere. I actually like Rees but wonder how you get a free ride at ND when you can’t run 5 yds c’mon channel your inner Forrest Gump.
Glad to hear your girl a Stanford grad–means $, good job and like all Ca. girls good looking–marry her and don’t blow it.
RE- Crist next stop–I was thinking Wisconsin
since I think guy there now only had this year—God forbid if its USC.
Finally give that f—–g tree a kick in the a– for me.
Go ND
Fellas,
As much as I would like to see Crist jump in I don’t think it will happen unless Tommy gets hurt. Hendrix is who we will be seeing in different looks. Cierre Wood is going to have an amazing game but not sure if it will be enough. Let’s hope so.
I agree Crist ain’t gona play. Wishful thinking. Also agree Florida is an option for him. Hope Wood has a huge day; we’ll need it! Either way I’ll give that tree a swift kick in the a–.
