Commit #23 Safety Max Redfield

Nd recruiting continues to roll by adding 5 star Safety 6’3″ 200 Redfield a previous USC commit. It just doesn’t get any better than that. Maybe we can get their top DL recruit also a de-commit to further bury the Trojans – stake thru the heart. USC quit against Georgia Tech in their Bowl Game and all recruits saw it.

So we now have 3 official 5 Stars – Redfield, RB-Bryant and LB Jaylon Smith. I’m upping that number to 6 by adding LB Anzalone and OL Biven and Elmer.

With 23 in the fold we maybe have 2 left and I think 5 guys will be visiting ND later this month and watch out if we stomp Bama.

Concerning Redfield – we already have about 5 Safety’s so Kelly may use him as a WR just to get him on the field – nice luxury to have.

Here is his highlight reel:

Sorry to start off with 2013 ND commit Torii Hunter’s injury at the Army Bowl practice, but it is very interesting how it happened – no contact drill and Torii breaks his femur. For you SEC fans the femur is the thigh bone. It is also one of the biggest and strongest bones in the body and it takes tremendous force to fracture it. Very strange – last time I saw anyone with a broken femur kid was in a full body cast.

Good Luck Torii heal fast.

This video will get you revved.

MY NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL 2012 AWARDS

We all know that Te’o and Eifert are the best players on this team so I’m going to let you just assume they are in there. I’m going to look at other guys that came through this year in a big way at one time or another.

Defense – I think we all know that the goal line stands would not have been possible without the immovable Louis Nix – he was the keystone on those occasions.

Kap Moore had just a great year on the DL and certainly as a Captain had a lot of influence on Nix and Tuitt. Concerning Tuitt – he had difficulty when double teamed later on in the year – so Kap was there to settle him down.

Zeke Motta – brought the hammer and literally coached the new DB’s – great job, really wished we had him for another year. Kudos to those guys – Bennett, Farley and Russell.

John Goodman – clutch – he won a few games for us that got lost in the shuffle – same for TJ Jones.

Theo Riddick – wow turned into power runner when it really counted.

Tommy Rees – say what you want, he did the job when called on.

E. Golson turned it on – keep doing what your instinct says.

And finally my best awards for the 2012 season:

Biggest A–Hole Award goes to 2 players or ex players:

Aaron Lynch
and Jordan Prestwood – how does it feel to be sitting on the sofa when ND is going for the National Championship, fucking a–holes is all you can say. Chance of a lifetime blown!

Under Armor Commit # 22 Tarean Folston

Tony Alford comes through again reeling in the perfect compliment to RB Greg Bryant. Folston a Florida RB at 5’9″ 190 committed to ND at 3rd. practice for the Upcoming Under Armor Bowl.

Helps to have other ND commits playing in this game.

Also helps to be a winning team. Everybody wanted this kid and tip of the cap to Alford.

Well, back from the holidays in New Jersey. Conclusion – you have to be out of your fucking mind to live there.

Saw a lot of Bowl Games–how great was it to see USC go down in flames – lot of quitters on that team.

What I really wanted to see was Nebraska vs. Georgia. Nebraska actually could have won that game – when they went up tempo Georgia was totally confused and players running on and off the field were never ready. Of course turnovers and pass defense did them in at the end.

What I learned from that game was that Pro Style teams cannot handle up tempo option offenses. The other thing I learned was you just gotta get to the QB. Can’t let Alabama’s QB just sit there all day – gotta hit him every play.

That brought to mind the Buddy Ryan 46 defense from the Chicago Bears 1985 team that destroyed QB’s and got them the championship. You had to have 4 down excellent D linemen – so we have: Tuitt, Nix, Moore and Shembo. You need an outstanding MLB – Te’o. A big tough safety – Motta and good cover guys – maybe we have? So we have 3/4 of the guys. No matter if ND is to win we must get to the Alabama QB.

So here’s a short clip of the 85 Bear defense – we need a variation of that to win.

For more info on the 46 Bear Defense here is a great article:

Yes names will appear on ND jerseys for the big game. Times have changed and time for names on ND jerseys for all games. Devine and Faust had them – Holtz took them off – team not individuals you know. No doubt he picked that up from Paterno. PSU for 2012 had names on jerseys – played better too.
